FREYDA : SKALD OF JORVIK

Launched at the Jorvik Viking Festival '23 this story was developed in partnership with Jorvik Viking Centre in York and supported through Arts Council England. Freyda’s story where she encounters a great seeress, mysterious owl and finds herself in a frozen forest, can be experienced on the streets of York or wherever you are.

CHRONICLES OF THE BAKEWELL WITCHES

Bakewell, 1606, and two local women are accused of witchcraft.  Constable George Micklethwaite is in Bakewell intent on finding out the truth of reports made by a man who had been lodging in the town and swore he had been the victim of sorcery. Determined to do his duty by God and the Derby Magistrates, George seeks out the two accused - Anne Stafford and Sarah Marsden - to find evidence of their bond with Satan. What he hears is both perplexing and alarming, as the women give their testimony, leaving behind a trail of betrayal and deception.

In The Footsteps of Bram Stoker reimagines the strange stories and dark events that may have inspired Bram Stoker to write his famous novel Dracula when he visited Whitby on the North Yorkshire Coast in the 1890's.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF BRAM STOKER

CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT - 

Set in 1666 in Eyam in Derbyshire in the time when The Black Death had come to the village. The disease had begun to spread quickly and Rev. George Mompesson, the vicar of Eyam, asked villagers to agree to isolate the village until the plague had gone, condemning many of them to certain death. The Great Mortailty os a fictional story about Marshall Howe and his sister Grace. Marshall is the village Sexton who is charged with the dispersal of those that have passed. As tensions rise and the strain of isolation starts to take its toll on the siblings, we discover the secrets that inevitably emerge.
